My first exposure to Venetian Snares in the late 90's came during a time in my life when I was hungry for innovative art and inspiration. Fast forwarding many years, this new Venetian Snares album came along exactly when I needed it. I will be listening to this one a lot.Venetian Snares has always been one of the few electronic music artists who has staying power for me. I go through a lot of music, and for many years I probably listened to 95% of my purchased electronic music once or twice before tossing it in the archives. However, I have listened to many of the Venetian Snares albums over and over for years and they continue to sound fresh and interesting.My favorite complete Venetian Snares albums are The Chocolate Wheelchair Album, Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding, Cavalcade of Glee and Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms, and Rossz Csillag Alatt Született. Stylistically, I would describe My Love Is A Bulldozer as a hybrid of the last two in that list. After three listens all the way through, my favorite tracks on Bulldozer are "8am Union Station" and "She Runs." However, it is quite a diverse album and most of the tracks are very strong. "8am Union Station" is an emo-acoustic track; it reminds me of waiting on a train platform, still drunk from the night before, after a one night stand. "She Runs" is a raging melodic breakcore acid trip which plunges the listener into a schizophrenic emotional vortex, a patented Venetian Snares style which to me evokes the 2003 - 2006 era.Venetian Snares is not an artist who people feel ambivalently about. People usually find the music either unlistenable or addictive. You either have the gene or you don't. If you don't like any of the other albums, you will probably not like this one.
