In other words, releases the hair without having to back out the wand and/or pull on it?** A: You maybe thinking that the brush spins automatically. It does not. You use the brush just as you would were you using a blow dryer and a round brush. Except with this you only use one hand to curl/style hair. So quick release is not an option. It is all manual. **Q: hot to touch while styling?** A: Hi Larisa, Just like all styler dryers I've used it does get a bit hot to the touch. I've never found it to be a real problem as long as you're careful. I have very short hair so I have to be a bit more careful but as I said its not been too bad. For me it's still the best styler dryer I've ever found. Hope this helps you. **Q: Does it dry your hair like a blow dryer? I tried a hot air brush that said that it dried your hair but it took almost an hour to dry. I don't have that much time.** A: Well I have short hair, so it takes very little time to style and dry. When I had long hair, I owned an old version of this and found that it took about as long a time as a blow dryer. I don't think the Conair takes any longer. I think when we focus intently on what we are doing, anything seems to take longer. Time drying your hair now, then again when you get the Conair BC171NCS, time it with that and see for yourself. I think you will really like this dryer. Another thing after the drying, you don't have to use your curling iron or rollers.
