You have NO CLUE how much time remains!! Even for studying or a test use, you would STILL want to know how much time remains. The only visual indicator that this thing is even ON is the subtle blue light flashing from the rear (1 indicator). Not a practical device for cooking, or studying. Truth is, my attention span is inadequate to get many tasks done without constant attention to my attention. This little timer, about the size of a large die, allows for a large number of possibilities thanks to the multiplier. So if you use the 3X multiplier and lay it where the 3 minute time is up, it will beep in 9 minutes. My only complaint would be that it stops beeping pretty quickly so if I do step out of the room, I often don’t realize it has beeped.
