We pushed, we squeezed, we did everything we could, but it would just pop right out. On the other chair it fit perfectly, so it was clearly a flaw. There is also a black mark across the top of the tiles on the table, kind of like you see on porcelain that's been scratched. There is no way to get it off, as it's scratched into the surface of the tiles. I don't know if it happened during shipping or at the seller's location, but it was scuffed when we opened the box. Unfortunately, it's such a hassle to fit everything in the boxes perfectly and then take it to UPS that we're just going to take a loss on the set and maybe give the one chair and table away free on Craigslist.
