Our house is mostly hard surface with some area rugs and bedroom carpet. This vac is great on the lvt and you can adjust the suction down as necessary and also to increase battery life. You can also turn the beater bar off. This is so easy to use, light weight, and as a result easy to get under beds or other furniture. Battery life is good to great. Easy of use is outstanding. The dust cup is small but also easy to dump. I would NOT rinse off the filter as recommended, bur rather tap it clean or blow it off with some canned air. Rinsing seems to create mud in the filter seams and also causes an odor that takes awhile to dissipate. We bought this as a support vacuum but it has turned into our go-to vac for general cleaning. ### ⭐⭐ Initial suction power is good but short lasting. *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019* While the overall unit appears well made, it falls short on filtration capacity. After vacuuming a hall runner which had been vacuumed just a week prior, the filter became totally clogged and the dirt chamber was only minimally filled. The filter area is way too small and the cleaning process is cryptic. So much for German engineering! Good ideas but not extremely user friendly. Haven't used it since the first failure. Alas, it was not to be. The first one broke down within a few weeks. Karcher replaced it for me, and guess what, this one has broken down as well. I was willing to give the machine a second chance, but I don't want a third one, which is now my only choice.I have asked for my money back, but I am caught in limbo between Amazon's policies and Karcher's policies. I do not want a third vacuum, just a simple refund. To be fair, both customer service agents were gracious and patient (they don't make the rules), but I am frustrated as I am now stuck with a product that doesn't work and with no possible recourse. Except a new machine. Karcher should stick by their reputation for quality and take it back - but since I bought it through Amazon and missed the 3 month return window, that is not going to happen.If you really want this product, buy it through a dealer. You will get your warranty and if something goes wrong, you can get your money back.
