This is a similar book but one dedicated to a precise bag, the 5.11 Tactical Push Pack, which sells for between $50 and 60 depending on where you buy it and sales. The 5.11 products (those I've seen and used) are very good quality,and I can understand why he would pick a top-of-the-line product.As it happens, I did not buy a 5.11 brand push pack but a Yukon brand. It might be slightly lower quality (I'm not certain it is, taken as a whole), but it has some of the features Max Cooper says he wishes the 5.11 brand had, including a rain cover with draw string in the main pocket and a grab handle on top. Cooper uses one of the side pockets for his water bottle, and the Yukon has a special purpose pouch for a water bottle in that place, and it just made more sense to me all around.The rest of the bag appears to be the same, and in working on loading an EDC (Every Day Carry) bag using Cooper's book, it seems close enough so as to make no difference. So even if you have another brand bag, don't worry too much about it. You can improvise, adapt, and overcome, which is, after all, the purpose of preparing an EDC.The book itself is very well-thought out. I will provide the table of contents to illustrate my point. For each pocket, Cooper explains what he puts into it and why. It is all very well thought out and rational. You have a limited about of space, and it is critical to determine what sorts of items YOU will need based on your particular context. As Cooper points out, there are too many variables for him to tell you exactly what to carry. Your needs will be different in an urban area than in the country, and in a cold climate compared to a tropical. But Cooper provides a great framework here for deciding on how to configure your EDC.I mostly follow Cooper's scheme with my own bag. Certain things fit in certain areas better than others. Not all the pockets on these bags are equal. And your power bank or portable charger might be too big, for example, to put in the top pocket (mine almost was). So there is a lot to consider based on what gear you have and what gear you might be willing to buy.At least as important is what you have is how you load it. You need things to be where you can get to them in a hurry and some things are more critical than others. Cooper explains all this in easily understood terms. Modify as suits your own needs and purposes.In all, I highly recommend this book, even if only as something to provoke thought. You might not be sure you need an EDC. Perhaps reading this book (which is reasonably priced) will help you decide. Either way you decide, you will have done your due diligence. As a college student in the 2000's it was essential. I've been thinking lately that I needed to change my bag because I don't carry all of the stuff that I used to and my backpack is mostly empty.I was considering some sort of sling bag and while looking at the options on Amazon, I came across this book. It covered the types of things that we carry everyday and how the 5.11 PUSH Pack can be used to carry those items. I found the reviews of some of the items that the author carries daily to be valuable along with his review of the PUSH Pack.Ultimately, I decided to purchase a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack. The Versipack is available in colors that look less tactical than black and khaki (I got blue). The Versipack also has features that the author considered missing on the PUSH Pack. I'm happy with my purchase! ### ⭐⭐⭐ EDC 101 *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2017* This is a great companion guide for the 5.11 Tactical Push Pack.I think a lot of EDC people will find their way here if they're looking for a high quality pack to expand the amount of items they can carry with them. This book has some good ideas on items to include - I've purchased a couple of them myself. The book itself is well written, but repetitive. Not sure if there was a page quota to fill, but the book could easily lose 20 pages. Wasn't a big fan of all the "tacticool" stuff, either. Let's be honest, this is a man purse for gadgets. It's not for CIA operatives.A full-sized handgun WILL fit in the suggest conceal carry pocket w/ holster. I added a velcro strip to an El Cheap-o OWB holster and secured it inside the pocket. My HK VP9 is a snug fit, but it does fit. Easily fits 2 additional mags and other items in there as well.
