I wanted to be able to protect the painted wood desk top from make-up mishaps, while keeping the pretty yellow color visible. This clear desk pad is perfect for the job, as it is unobtrusive yet effective. This product seems like the next best option to having a custom- made glass top, which would be MUCH more expensive. I don't know how well this product will hold up over time, however, so far, so good. My only wish is that the company would offer more size options. For example, I have a desk that is 18" wide and 60" inches long, and I would like more coverage than 34" of the desk surface area. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exactly as described! *by C***G on December 16, 2018* Bought this for my 13 year old son to protect his new desk which started to have minor scratches. He loves it! It is now easier for him to move around stuffs as the surface is smoother, and he no longer needs a mouse pad ! This writing mat was shipped flat in a large box so I did not have any problem with it curling up. I did originally think that it had two long scratches on the surface and was planning to return it, but on closer inspection it appeared to be two long streaks of some type of adhesive and it easily cleaned off.
