It helps getting out the wrinkles also. My bag came with hooks on the rear only. The picture shows them on the side. I used zip ties on the rear hooks to fasten the bag to my rear rack along with the straps. Hopefully, this will deter a would be thief. There is a lot of room in the bag and on the sides. I wish the rain cover was part of the bag rather than separare, however. It is not. It comes mashed down flat. You would really have to pack it full to make it fill out.There are not enough attachment hooks so you can secure it to your bike. The bungee cords that crisscros under the bag have large plastic end pieces. No way they would not scratch your bike.
