Crushable hats sometimes do come in these kinds of boxes. The beaver color has no color like the pic. Not a bit of green, all brown. At this point kind of disappointed. I have ordered large sized hats from Bailey and had to pad them. Padding doesn't work 100% though. It can fall out, or make the inner band look strange.The hat itself was made solid. Very good looking, I always like the cloth hat band, very soft and comfortable. I ended up returning it due to the small size of this particular medium size Firehole. Talk about a cool name for a hat, jokes abound am I right? I can't fault anyone for the hat not fitting, these things can be off a little and make all the difference. The way its made, I liked the structure of the thing and the way it has a nice definite shape. Could charge a lot more for the kind of quality it is, thats another reason I like Baileys stuff and like getting it from OutdoorEquipped out of NC. I look at the right margin for the other possible sellers of an item. Always good service, they actually mean it when they strive for 100% customer satisfaction. My return was taken care of quickly and efficiently even without a printer. Amazon sent me a code to show the UPS shop, done in about 30 seconds. Barely noticeable when your up on your horse but when you are at eye level it is just perceptible. when it gets older and beat up it shouldn't be an issue. Walking in this type of weather, one needs a hat that won't discolor or wilt in the wetness. This Bailey hat is perfect for walking around town or on the trails. Fits well. Looks really great. Nice hat band. Just a great all round, and inexpensive, hat for everyday use.I had one for a couple of years and the only problem was fading from the sun (yes, the sun does occasionally shine in Portland). We left it hanging next to a southern exposure window and over the course of two years it faded quite a bit.
