It uses the push in Temp sensor. I used the kit on my 2005 Xterra after the fan clutch gave out a second time. AC works far better now as a result of even cooling across the whole rad. **Q: Will this fit an astro van?** A: I don't know specifically if it will fit - you can call customer service at Flex-a-lite they are great and will help you get the right fan for your car **Q: What is the type and number of the console? There are quite similar units in the labels and different at work** A: what are you talking about this is for my 1972 chev radiator cooling . **Q: Puller or pusher?** A: If i recall, I believe this fan can be installed either way... as a pusher or a puller. I don't recall the way its set up at the factory but it works great on my truck. I had a couple of questions during install and I called flexalite. They were very helpful.
