Blade is very sharp, aluminum handle is rugged and easy to hold. I really like this knife. Review: The slide mechanism is SMOOTH. There is no click/lock on the model I purchased, in case that matters - This is my second OLFA, I'd previously purchased the auto locking, click-advanced version which I've since misplaced and wanted to give this one a shot. It performs amazing, but you do need to spin the lock to lock it down to prevent slippage. When loose to advance the blade, it is completely loose and slides effortlessly with little to no friction until you lock it up. You could easily use the full blade, a couple blades, or just one at a time if desired but if you don't lock it, obviously you might be at risk of injury or unexpected reactions.
