You will never find him adhering to rules espoused by many writers. Mike Lawrence lays out the raison d'etre for all his ideas, and the backbone of all his writing is logic, plain and simple. There is nothing to memorize here, because everything is layed out clearly and with a perfect example to illustrate his point. You can never go wrong with a Mike Lawrence book. Love this book. I've been playing Bridge for about five years. Mr. Lawrence is a great Bridge teacher and writer. (I bought the book before it was on Amazon). Clear writing and examples. Helps with logic and what's going on at the Bridge table. Is more up to date than a lot of older instruction books which is helpful since Bridge keeps evolving with new conventions and methods.
