She was really upset at the fact that she could no longer eat oranges. I read the reviews and asked a question and noted that others with RA were able to use this.Well, my friend loves it! It actually cuts through an orange with the peel on. With most things she cuts, she can push the blade down with her arms, although with the oranges, she actually puts the cutter on the floor and uses her foot. While that might not be the perfect scenario, who cares? It works for her and she can now eat her oranges and all of the other fruits and veggies that she so loves. Food adheres and sticks and is extremely hard to remove. This takes up a lot of space on my kitchen shelf when stored with all of the various parts. You have to slice onions or other similarly shaped veges, fruits crosswise first in order for it to dice so it doesn't eliminate that part.
