Review: Presentation is half the battle - I was mildly concerned reading some of the lower ranking reviews, so I ordered this with a bit of trepidation. Needlessly. It arrived in excellent condition, and as mentioned in other reviews, no assembly required. The workmanship is good, and the carving is nice. There was a strap still across the bottom of it, looks like it was used to hold it rigid while it dried, then someone forgot to remove it, but that took me about 30 seconds to take care of. It is now in my 'museum' (formal room) holding a piece of art that a friend made for me. It looks very nice, and makes the art look even more nice. All in all a good buy. I am concerned however that when I eventually pass on, that my heirs will value the pedestal over the art work. Review: Solid, well crafted, not too heavy - This is perfect for my needs. Some may complain that the carving isn't as deep or intricate as it could be, but that doesn't bother me. Seems well done for the money.
