My husband was worried they were too tight on his upper arm and he'd have trouble pushing them down and pulling them up during the race. (It was too hot for him to have them up all the time.)I was concerned they wouldn't stay up on my arms, because the gapped a bit at the top.Neither turned out to be an issue. Mine stayed up, and his were easily maneuverable!Regarding the heat, I left mine up, and when dry, it wasn't an issue. However, when they were wet from being sprayed by a firehouse, or falling in water pits, and ice baths, they cooled me for quite a distance. They were great!The padding, which was their whole purpose, was awesome! We crawled and slid through several obstacles that had us moving on sharp sandy compacted dirt. My sunburned knees and thighs took the pain, but my elbows....unscathed! They didn't hurt from impact and weight, nor did they get scratched. Even in the sandy corrugated pipes, my arms and elbows didn't feel a thing. My knees were protesting, but elbows were delighted.The pads are not one single arm pad, they are multiple little disks, so they are very flexible. They move with the body instead of fighting against, like some stiffer solid pads. And their flexibility allows the wearer to adjust the pad for different pressure points. If I were crawling on something that needed more long distance forearm protection, I could easily have pulled the pad down to be more forearm focused. They are not stuck in a curved position.Washing. I washed ll my gear together. I beat everything out, washed it all on a stain removing cycle with extra rinse. Wiped out the washer and rehashed everything. There was a lot of fine dirt embedded in everything. I payed these flat to dry, and they look great. There aren't any snags or loose threads, and they aren't stretched out looking.If you are doing an OCR, BUY THESE. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ So far so good. *by T***E on July 22, 2015* So far so good... Got these for our resident 14 year old Safety (Football) and so far he approves. They fit snug and don't move around as he's lurking about and seem to provide adequate protection when he zeroes in for the "Polamalu." We haven't had them long enough to put them through the ringer (wash) but they seem to take a decent licking at least.I gave them a 4 because I just didn't like the way they felt (I could be biased). I am unsure how these will hold up for a full season. My husband and I ordered these to help with his elbows and they fit him well, were comfortable during play and he likes them. Since basketball season is around the bend he'll be using these to protect his arms as well. I think they have good stretch... they wash well and overall are definitely a good compression sleeve.
