Review: A very sturdy and versatile mount. - After trying a cheap 10 dollar option that failed miserably I was determined to find something that would just work, even if it cost a little more than I wanted to spend. Let me tell you, I'm so glad I spent the extra few bucks! This thing is so good. I'm using it in a little less traditional sense. I took an idea from one of the reviews here where they had their projector mounted on this and then some T-Track. I refined the design a bit as I wanted this thing to be really sturdy, and it is. I may have put most of my weight and hung off this thing for a split second to make sure it wasn't going anywhere... It didn't budge. Now I can move my camera into virtually any position I want for overhead and top down shots! If I need more range I can just mount more T-Track and bam. This mount uses the standard AMPS mounting pattern of 30x38mm. Mine also had three additional holes in a triangular pattern. I used some M3 head screws and nuts, I think they were 12mm in length. M4 screws will just fit though the holes, but I wanted a little wiggle room to account for just using a hand drill instead of drill press to bore them. The mount articulates very nicely with two ball joints on either end and an elbow joint in the middle. The elbow joint has teeth to keep it locked in place and the ball jointed have a small grooved pattern machined into them to really lock things into place. The camera and lens on here weigh in at only about 1.5lbs, but I can tell you thing can hold a lot more weight than that if it needed to. Not just hold it either, but LOCKS it into place. Super impressed with this mount that I actually purchased a different model Arkon mount to complete my setup.
Review: Perfect for a small projector that can also use a camera-tripod mount. It's great! - Price on this was about five times as much as the first mount I ordered--but the sturdiness, quality, fit, and finish were FAR better than the first one. This mounted easily and quickly. The adjustments are almost infinitely variable, and since this is made of cast and machined aluminum you will not worry about this fracturing, bending, falling, or breaking--nor will your worry about your expensive camera or projector falling due to failure of the mount. Another great aspect of this mount? If you were a little off in your measuring for mounting your projector (mine is an LG PF1500 1080p native-res) this will allow you to orient your projector right, left, forward, or back, as long as the mount is low enough to permit those adjustments. For example, my screen's viewing area is approximately 9.5" below the ceiling, and the top of my projector's image begins at the center of its lens. If I need to make adjustments I would want to have the mount far enough from my ceiling to allow a bend in the mount, which would then move the top of the image upward somewhat, toward the ceiling. In other words, if you want such adjustments attach the mount to a wooden block, etc. to get it a little lower, so that adjusting the joints won't raise your projector above where you need it to be. At any rate, I have not found any ceiling mount for a small projector like mine that provides the range of adjustment yet is so sturdy. I have no reservations about heartily recommending this one!

**Q: How much weight does this hold? I'm looking at mounting a professional video camera with this to a permanent location.**
A: This little thing has some serious holding power. After getting a cheap mount and then this there is a huge difference well worth the asking price. I'm using this for a d3300 woth an older all metal lens, but I would trust this with my much heavier d300 body woth battery grip and full on telephoto lens! It's that good.

When grasping the mount from either end in both hand it doesn't budge at all while trying to apply force. 

Like the seller stated, what type of hardware you use to mount it will determine if it can reach its max load of 10lbs. Get some appropriate hardware for what you are mounting it to and you're gtg!

**Q: Will this work for outdoor installations?**
A: I am using two for outdoor installations.  Both affix to wood on my house or deck.  The wood on my house is covered by plastic.  In both cases, they are semi covered by an overhang but they have survived their first month with 12 inches of snow and flood causing rains.

**Q: What’s the weight limit?**
A: I’ve put a few pounds (around 3lbs) of stuff on the end of it and it was just able to hold it in place after really tightening down the joints on it. From experience I know that It holds a small security camera like a ring indoor cam with no problem.

**Q: Can it be used for ceiling mounting vid camera & still have camera positioned right-side-up?**
A: Just to add to my answer here. I just tried to put my nikon d3300 on this and position the camera right side up. You can get the camera at about a 15-20 angle from the ceiling but not exactly parallel with it, but still not to bad. That all being said I still plan on just flipping the image in software.

Arkon Camera Wall Mount for CCTV POV Camcorders Cameras For those involved in 'beginner' level video or still photography content creation, this tool is incredible. It allows for a bomb proof set up, incredible flexibility & the strength to handle almost any gear. If you need a reliable and flexible mount to get those crucial 'bird's eye' workbench shots, this fits the bill perfectly. By installing the mounting plate on the underside of a sturdy shelf above your workbench, you will be able to easily capture all the action as you create your cool stuff. Until now, I've been reasonably happy with a couple of Arkon Camera Clamp Mounts. The thing is: they are a BEAR to adjust - the strength required to bend the gooseneck, and the limited range of the swivel head make it a real chore to change your setup. Now that I've experienced the ease of use, quality construction and reliability of this unit, I'll RARELY use the Clamp Mounts. Couldn't be happier. Thank you for creating a product that precisely meets the needs of this particular Maker.
