There are no ledges to hold the letters in place, no score keepers on the letter holders, and the letters on the tiles are in different fonts and cases which is totally distracting. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Heirloom quality Scrabble set *by G***T on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2014* The images representing this set are very accurate and for the most part I am very pleased with my purchase. Quality control has been kept quite high with a couple of minor exceptions: The backs of the tiles have a square of rubber adhered to them. In some cases the positioning of the rubber is not square and a couple of tiles has some bubbling. This rubber makes the tiles stick together and in some cases it can be a little tricky to pull them apart. With a little pressure however, this rubber can help the grip the surface of the board and prevent slippage. The printing of the letters on a couple of tiles seemed too light and others seemed a little heavy - this issue related to the typefaces used, but could have been corrected. A couple of tiles had small nicks in the surface, but they were not significant enough to make me want to return the set.The only other issue is a design consideration rather than a quality one. The crosses on the surface of the board, that have replaced the traditional grid, make it a little tricky to line up the tiles - it takes perhaps a second or two longer than usual.The lazy Susan on the base is constructed from plastic, which surprised me, but it seems of a decent quality.I wish the cardboard box the set came in was sturdier and had not been taped - it was also nicely designed but the tape ruins the effect and the cardboard is really thin and will get dog-eared very quickly.Apart from these considerations the set is exceptional. The tiles are lightly stained or coated so you don't have to worry about them absorbing grease as with some other sets.
