A: It has to be reset each time.

**Q: Does the display timer stay on during countdown? Or does it turn off to save battery after it hasnt been handled in a while?**
A: It stays on to show the countdown for convenience and after counting down, it stays 00.00 because the LCD display's power consumption is minimal.

**Q: Is this waterproof?**
A: I don't think so.  There is no claim that it's waterproof.  So, probably not.
