Then, take your builder online and join your friends to collaborate and create something truly magnificent. Don't let the name fool you, despite the 2, this is a completely standalone experience featuring new characters, an expansive world, unlimited building combinations, and a story-line that's sure to satisfy longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Review: Everything I wished for in DQ Builders 1, realized! - This game gives me absolutely everything I ever wished the first one could have improved on. A myriad of new tools make it a lot easier and faster to do certain things, and later in the game when you gain the ability to befriend monsters, certain monsters can act as other useful tools as well. Fall damage isn't such a danger, you don't have to hunt for dropped items if you die, you have a "fast" running speed(!), and you can customize your outfit to look like a different item so you don't have to choose between fashion and certain stat bonuses. You can fill certain requirements to access unlimited amounts of certain materials for crafting which is SO helpful. The story is great, classic silly Dragon Quest puns galore and a great satisfying epic feel, especially the ending. Admittedly the combat feels easier than the first game, but I personally don't mind because I play other action games for fun combat; I play Builders to build. Overall a lot of fun, more than worth the $25 I paid for it, and a huge enough improvement from the first game that I would be ecstatic to see what they would bring to a third title in the series!
Review: The best block building game, now with more improvements. - Don't get me wrong, I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Minecraft. But in terms of polish, features and personality, Dragon Quest Builders 2 pulls away at the starting line and never ever lets up. It is hard to overstate how much better villages and villagers are in DQB2. There are the fact that DQB2 villagers all have distinct appearances and personalities and proper dialog and costuming. There is proper furniture, and the characters can interact with it. There is a proper day/night cycle and the villages feel alive. If there is a raid, it is 5 minutes of crazy fun chaos that wraps up promptly and doesn't derail the game. Basically, everything works properly, and is utterly charming, and it makes Minecraft seem very crude in comparison. This is a game I've been looking forward to ever since I finished the first Dragon Quest Builders, and it does not disappoint.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun game, very addicting!

I had tried Minecraft when it was still in its beta phase and honestly couldn’t get into it. I had also tried similar games like Terraria and also didn’t like it. Something about this game just hooked me. Probably because it’s like a Dragon Quest skinned Minecraft. The neat thing is that your NPC/Villagers actually interact with the buildings and items you make. The game has a pretty lengthy story-mode and once you’re done with it, the only goal is to really build up your island how you please but the game does give you some loose objectives.
