It is divided into 3 parts. The first part has us following someone on a trip to the Middle East. It takes the kind of subjects you've found in textbooks (what you're used to) and expands it into a story. I'm talking beginner friendly themes like travel, food, family, hobbies, etc. The authors cleverly leverage these themes into a story. The second part is a few biographies. But the reason why this book is a gem is the third part, which is the story of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves set in the modern world. The authors delicately set you up to read a true proper story, written so well that I would find it interesting enough to read even in english. It's so well written that it can stand on it's own as a normal story. It's genuinely funny and clever, and doesn't read like something deliberately written for language learners. With this, the training wheels come off. You are now ready to tackle real books.Some other things that I liked was that the authors repeat words across all the parts to reinforce them. There is audio available (the sites the book lists are down but there is an app which does work). I have to say that it was an enjoyable experience. This is divided into three parts. Stories are simple and funny. The book, however, is not for absolutely beginners or starters students. Students must know the alphabet, know some elementary rules of the language, and having the energy to read without the ḥarakāt marks. At the end, the book has a modest glossary but, in my opinion, it is not possible study all the material without a good Arabic dictionary (which implies knowing looking for into this sort of dictionaries!). At the moment, the audio is easily accessible from the audiostudyplayer website.I recommend this book for anyone who is wishing jump into real arabic language! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars comprehensible and great flow *by P***T on Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2019* I ordered this book for myself after checking it out from my local library. I enjoyed reading this book and completing the exercises so much that I ordered one for myself. What I love about this book is that it is comprehensible and that it presents useful vocabulary in English. I have studied Arabic for nearly 10 years (on and off) and it's difficult to come across great literature for individuals learning Arabic as a second language.
