Review: Great strings - These strings are great, like any other daddario strings, and they ARE different from regular/traditional electric guitar strings. In my opinion they have less 'new string sound' but are brighter sounding strings, so they don't sound as metallic as ordinary new strings but they retain the sound that they have for much longer than regular strings; a regular set of strings will keep their new sound for maybe a couple days before settling in, these ones keep it for weeks. They also feel much different, whenever I tried them and noticed the difference the best way I could describe it is by saying: it's exactly what you would expect from steel vs nickel. They're tougher, duller looking, and sound a little more metallic (broken in). Nickel strings, by comparison, are smoother, lighter, and look shinier; just as you would expect from nickel vs steel. I can't stress that enough that's the #1 thing I was thinking when I tried them. "I really don't know what I expected but this makes total sense.". No indications to nickel at all. **Q: Do these work decent for drop c and drop b?** A: I play in D standard, drop C , C# standard and they stay in tune just fine. There’s a period of adjustment (stretching) like any string. But they stay in tune well. And they don’t break nearly as often. Used to break strings @ the bridge but these don’t. I would go up a gauge for drop B for sure. But these are all I use for all my guitars (they make acoustic strings too) **Q: How many packs of stings do you get? I can get two for this amount at sweetwater!** A: All D'Addario's are available as single sets or in 3 packs. You didn't indicate the price. Single sets are $10.99 : 3 packs are $31.76. I don't use this set.
