Review: This is the exact brand and everything that originally came in my 65’ drri - This is an exact replacement for the OE reverb in a fender deluxe reverb reissue 65. The original had a bad hum, this new one does not and works perfectly. Review: Made in USA and direct soldered! - This is an awesome pan that sounds great. It’s made by Ruby Tubes and in the USA. Also, most importantly it’s directly soldered to the transducer of the pan rather than plug in like newer Accutronics pans. In the picture I attached it shows a grey Accutronics pan with a plug in style next to the black Fender “ruby tubes” pan with the wires directly soldered to the pan’s transducer. Why is this important? Because the plug in style can pick up 60 cycle hum which causes a buzzing/humming noise that gets louder as you turn up the reverb. This was the problem I had in my Super Reverb. I put this Fender pan in it and it fixed the problem. If you’re not getting enough reverb out of this pan remove the cushion pad under the springs on the pan. It will give it a longer reverb trail. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked great in a Deluxe Reverb - Made in USA ! *by J***H on June 4, 2026* I have a vintage hand wired Deluxe Reverb that had a irritatingly super long decay reverb (an aftermarket Belton tank whose spec's matched the amp but the dwell was super long and cavernous). To test, I switched the Belton tank with a 1970's vintage one out of an old Twin Reverb (model number wasn't visible). It sounded great but had a loud pop when engaging the tremolo via footswitch. Did all sorts of troubleshooting but still had the "pop". Discovered the ground on the INPUT side of the tank RCA jack on Deluxe Reverb tanks are NOT supposed to have continuity to the tank shell (the output RCA jack black wire IS supposed to have have continuity to tank shell). My input jack on the vintage tank had continuity to the shell which does not match the Deluxe AB763 specs. The INPUT jack black wire/sleeve grounding to the tank shell was causing the pop (as this creates a ground loop). The vintage tank is a 17 inch 3 spring type made by ACCUTRONICS in GENEVA IL, gold color and measures 1.4 ohms on input (aka 8 ohms) and 178 ohms on output (aka 2250 ohms) - this is perfect measurement for the Deluxe so I will install a new insulated RCA jack on the vintage tank and use the vintage tank. The Fender Branded Ruby Tank (Fender 4-Spring 8-Ohm Spring Reverb Unit 4AB3C1B) sounded great (with no POP as it has correct specs) but I think the vintage Accutronics tank just sounded more smooth and natural on my particular amp. This Ruby tank measures 1.4 ohms on input (aka 8 ohms) and 44 ohms on the output (aka 600 ohms - sorta low for my amp). So while the Ruby tank sounded good, is spec'd for the Deluxe, it was low in output signal. I could turn up reverb dial more and still not be too washy but it didn't have the full character of the better sounding vintage Accutronics tank. I'm guessing the Ruby tank is spec'd for modern Reissue AB763 amps which may be ok with a weaker tank output @ 600 ohms (mine is a hand wired vintage amp which may want a hotter reverb tank output). Note: the Ruby tank is a 4 spring tank which means it has 4 springs but they are connected in the middle as essentially 2 long springs. The washy sounding Belton tank measured 1.4 ohms input (aka 8 ohms) and 262 ohms on output (aka 2500 ohms). Which is hot output so it makes sense that it had too much dwell because it was slamming the preamp with too much voltage. Make sure your tank is 100% spec'd to your amp. Even if it is the correct spec, there's no guarantee it will sound right (or be working to match your desired sound) - you might have to try a couple different brands/tanks to get one to your liking - the old vintage tanks (that match the amp spec) usually sound great if they are working correctly. Unfortunately, there are only a couple current manufacturers of tanks. The Ruby one says "made in the USA" which was surprising as I assumed these were all made in China or Korea. If you have a modern Reissue, the Ruby is the tank I would get. Hope this helps someone if they run into this in the future - I could not find solutions to this online.
