My husband is mechanically inclined and it took him about 3 hours to assemble, nothing complex, but to quote him "the chairs were in 100 pieces." Just be aware, it may take you some time to put together. That being said, and the fact that I did not have to put it together, it is GORGEOUS. Nothing feels cheap about this, you would think it cost 3 or 4 times what we paid. It is our first real dining set and I think it will be around for a long long time. Make sure someone is home for delivery because the packaging is huge and heavy and you will want to bring it in right away. I would recommend this table to anyone, we are so in love with it! One last comment...we are leaving the leaf in, just because it seems a little odd shaped without it and the ends of the table are not out very far for the heads of the table to sit closely. If you have a big people in your family, this table would probably only sit 6, but if you have some kids mixed in there, 8 could probably work. 100% IN LOVE WITH THIS TABLE SET! ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Looks good but poor craftsmanship. *by C***B on Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2016* Of the two stars I can give this table, one is for Amazon customer service making up for defective laminate on the table top, and the other is because it looks good. The craftsmanship, however, is poor. We had problems with the bench (tolerances were off so the wood pieces meant to cover the lower screws would fall out, fixed with some wood glue), the chairs (left side legs were 1/8 inch shorter than right side legs, which we could deal with because other tolerances were also so loose that we could compensate, albeit by spending a couple hours putting together each chair) but unfortunately the last thing we unpacked and put together was the table top, so only after all that effort did we realize the laminate on one corner of the table top was coming off. Some more wood glue would temporary fix the problem, but it would only be a matter of time until we had to replace a $1000 table -- far less time than a table at this price point should last. Amazon came up with options which were all reasonable but, let's face it, a hassle. So, I can't fault Amazon customer service, but next time I buy a "major" piece of furniture, it will be at the local furniture shop where problems are much less work to resolve. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great solid, sturdy table *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2015* Nice solid table with only a couple issues. I really love this table and it looks great. It's very solid and sturdy and the color is perfect. Only issues I had was that none of the chairs come with pads on the bottom so you'll need to buy those seperatly so they don't scratch the floor. Also, one of the chairs was missing the threads in the hole for the screw.
