The ceramic is of very high quality, it definitely stands the test of time. The inside has spiral grooves which helps the coffee flow down through the grounds. It also comes with a handy scoop for measuring your grounds. The size of the maker might be smaller than you would expect, when compared to other pour over makers you may have seen. But do not worry this is not an issue, the size has no effect on the final product (coffee). I believe the size is actually optimal, not too big, not too small. It is the perfect size for a single cup of coffee. After years of brewing coffee with this maker, I have created the ideal method for the perfect cup of Java! First, take your coffee filter and place it in the maker. Pour hot/warm water on it so the entire filter is saturated/wetted with water.
