It is meant to be washed out with each shampooing. It is a very very fine powder that clings to your own hair strands and settle onto your scalp to make hair seem less thin. After styling my hair I spray lightly with hairspray then dust the top of my hair with it. I find this works best for me. **Q: What colors are available?** A: I got the gray and it works well with my gray/white hair. **Q: How do you use this with the spray applicator?** A: You would take the lid off the canister and screw it into the spray applicator. **Q: Is it a colored powder or does it have a literal texture to it?** A: It is a colored powder. It comes with a shaker top but you can also purchase an atomizer. It looks like a rubber ball with a long tube attached to it. You squeeze down on the rubber ball and it puffs through the tube. I personally think you use less if you purchase that extra piece. And then once you have that you can use it on future containers.
