But they are really made for thin or straight hair. They grip very tightly, I will have to say. And when I would remove them I had to be careful that they didn't rip my hair out. The little diamond like thing on the end is about the size of a baby aspirin. The pins are 2 1/8 inch long & are silver-colored. The single stone on each pin is 3/16 inch in diameter & very shiny. They are very pretty. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5, is that the stone is about 1/4 inch down from the end of the bobby pin. If you are trying to hide the pin under your hair, showing only the stone, you can't. You do see the end a little.
