I made a leg that was 2x2x32 and had no problem. My guess would be your table saw would be the limiting factor. For safety sake, no matter what size leg I would recommend using the gripper, also a product made by Microdial. I stated the largest leg I have made is a 2x2x32 and the smallest was a 1 5/8x1 5/8x14. Yeah, it didn't work. So I made another one. That one didn't work either. Before I blamed the wood, or the saw, I thought I'd go ahead and try this jig. Watched several YouTube videos. I made four table legs, tapered, first time out. And they were perfect. Not ok, not almost ok. Perfect. This jig made it SO easy. I watched the DVD, read the directions, used an online calculator to figure out the degrees to set it to - and the legs turned out well. I'd HIGHLY recommend this jig - it's incredibly versatile. I' also used it to cut straight edges on boards for gluing together - and it works great at that as well. While I admire the folks that can make their own jigs, while I'm learning the process, it's nice to have something that just works. Will I try to make my own jig again in the future? Probably not - why would I when this works so well. I've been using mine for over a month now - and it just works - consistent, repeatable cuts. Stop thinking about it - just get it. You won't regret it.
