I'm a welder by trade, so I know my tools. They would be okay for wood, but not steel. Out of the box some of the bits were sharp, some were not sharp at all; you could physically feel it on the cutting edge. When I tried to drill with them, they wouldn't cut at all. Also they are very brittle. I have broke 5 of the bits since my purchase. The last one I broke sent a piece of the bit into my kid's chest. It bruised him a bit and scared him a lot. I realize drill bits break from time to time, but these are ridiculous. I have a set of 40 year old drills bits that outperform these, I should have invested in a drill bit sharpener instead. Also, the drill index fell apart the day I received it.
