The patterns are given with gauge/type (sport, fingering, etc.) of yarn and charts ( as well as written instructions, for those of us who have problems decifering charts). The 12 shawls come in styles varying from solid (nice and comfy warm) to Lacey (light and elegant). This book will be a solid staple in my knitting library and is an excellent choice for a novice shawl knitter.

This book is an excellent choice for an experienced or inexperienced shawl knitter. The patterns are given with gauge/type (sport, fingering, etc.) of yarn and charts ( as well as written instructions, for those of us who have problems decifering charts). The 12 shawls come in styles varying from solid (nice and comfy warm) to Lacey (light and elegant). This book will be a solid staple in my knitting library and is an excellent choice for a novice shawl knitter.
