I wonder how much of that has to do with the poor packaging when it was shipped and it's bent in places. It doesn't fit my kindle flush. I don't dislike the case either. Sleep function works great, the swivel option to have the kindle in landscape or portrait is awesome as well. For what the product is I think it's a reasonable price. It certainly appears to be a good quality material and durable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is the one to get for your Kindle HDX 7" *by S***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 8, 2014* After a couple of trial and errors with other case brands and extensive hours of research, I found this case and boy am I happy I did!I have a rooCase on my first generation Kindle; so I was familiar with their quality products. However, at the time of purchasing my new HDX the case selection in Amazon was rather limited, so I veered to other brands which proved to be ineffective i.e. cheap looking, smelly and poorly designed. So, I went to the rooCase website to see if they had come up with one for the new HDX Kindles and surprisingly their site said Amazon carried it. I believe I am the first to rate this casePros: - synthetic leather has a very natural leather look & feel and most importantly it didn't smell 'chemically' for days. In fact, there was no emitting odor from it at all! - it allows you to easily rotate the kindle from horizontal to vertical positions without having to detach the tablet from the cover. In fact, you can rote it 360 degrees! - it allows you to detach the kindle from the cover while keeping the back and corners protected via the 'holding' plate, plus this plate has a strap to help you hold the kindle with one hand and little feet that can be used to slant the tablet when placed on a hard surface. Like keyboards do. The side panel also has three slits for placing credit cards or business cards. Awesome! It's like having two cases in one. - the inside of the case is protected by a felt like material that won't scratch your Kindle and the case allows you clear access to all the buttons, speakers, etc. The only thing is that when you turn the kindle vertically or horizontally, you need to be careful to return it to the original alignment otherwise the kindle could end up upside down ;-)Cons - the only con I have, and this is more the problem of the actual Kindle than of the case, is that the case, when closed, is a little bit bulkier than the rooCase I had on my original Kindle. This is because the edges of the HDX flare up. Since the case offers front and back coverage, when you close it, the flare makes it a tiny bit wider than with the previous Kindles, but this is also the situation with other cases, so it shouldn't deter you from purchasing this case.All and all this is a very well designed case that so far has thoroughly improved my user experience of my new Kindle. It allows me to accommodate my Kindle in almost any which way I want while laying down on the bed or at the beach. It is very well made and sturdy and I know that it will last me for years to come.
