Review: Good product, better than expected - Important for this review: The product was ordered in May 2020. The product comes from Taiwan and was delivered to the Netherlands. (Delivery took only 10 days instead of 2 months) While the expected delivery time on desertcart was set for approximately 2 months, the delivery was much faster and the rings arrived within 10 days of purchase. You will be contacted by the delivery company (DHL in my case) for payment of the extra import costs (86euro in my case for the Netherlands). Total cost for me were 413euro. For the last month we have been using the rings without issues. It is very interesting to see what directions the pigeons take during their flight home. We enjoy to see their flightpaths and the product is worth the price. While the rings are small they still carry a GPS and battery that can last the whole flight depending on the logging interval that you choose. The instructions that come with the package are very poor and it is best if you look up the instructions on YouTube. The software required to read the data from the rings needs to be downloaded online and can also be found with the YouTube video. You can download the software without buying the product to see if it works for you. You have to configure the rings before the flight with a starting time. You have to make sure to use the correct time when the pigeons are released or the battery will go empty before the pigeons are released. I advice to test the rings by configuring all the rings with different settings and then place them at the front window of your car and then drive around. You will get confident with the rings and software before you use them during a flight. Conclusion: Very happy with the product. I recommend this product to everyone with pigeons. Download the latest version of all files "under downloads". Download the USB drivers as well (important) and then after installing and restarting the PC you are done. In order to reduce pigeon’s burden, we developed smaller and lighter GPS tracker ring and use GPS+ Glonass to record the position. It can only read after pigeon came back. At present the technology do not allow to make the real time GPS ring because the real time GPS ring need a large capacity battery and the GPS ring will become bigger. For pigeon, it's a big burden. After installing the online usb driver and the software for Win, the program ran smoothly. The batteries should always be recharged, whenever you try to read or set-up the rings. Easy to handle. The product didn't work with Mac Sierra, as the USB driver cannot be recognized.
