I did find that I needed to put an extra length of webbing on the top ladder handle as it was tricky to reach the ladder whilst in bed as my bed is a super deep one. I was concerned I would not be able to locate the handle after a few moves in bed.I now have confidence it's not going to disappear down the bed.It has a small amount of stretch bit not too much. I've found it invaluable post surgery to be able to raise myself up in bed independently.
