I get the impression that this brand and model (whether right-handed or left) was used in a LOT of houses in the US. That explains my review title. If you have a broken window crank "operator" that matches this one, in size and method of operation, then yes you can replace it with this fairly easily, and it will work just fine. Numerous online videos explain the replacement process. You definitely need a screwdriver, and you probably need a pry bar and/or putty knife. That’s about it. A beginner should be able to do it, and a competent handyman can do it fast. We've replaced two, and they work fine afterward. I believe one of them was only about 10 years old, but I don’t know if it received rough treatment. But we've had no problems after 3+ years of the ones we installed. Not worth worrying about, since I don't think there are many competitors. My biggest complaint is that these have skyrocketed in price. Here today they cost twice what we paid in 2020, and other vendors charge even more. This has nothing to do with inflation. It's a very simple device that is mass-produced.
